Johnny Raicu
My name is Johnny Raicu and I live in Chicago’s suburbs. I am a passionate learner and innovative college bound senior eager to solve problems at the intersection of medicine and technology. I am a senior at Glenbrook South High School (GBS). As an aspiring physician, I am interested in a STEM focused undergraduate program at the intersection of medicine, computer science, and engineering. My biomedical research internship at the University of Chicago in the summer of 2023 as well as attending the IEEE/ACM SuperComputing/SC'23 conference in November in Denver Colorado to present my research that won 2nd place in the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) has fueled my desire to pursue more innovative research in biomedical engineering and/or neuroscience. I have taken the most rigorous coursework (10 Advanced Placement courses) in one of the best college-prep high schools. I am a section leader in the Glenbrook Symphonic Orchestra where I play the violin. I am a varsity tennis player and have played soccer since 1st grade. I lead the Medical Chapter Club at GBS as co-president. I am the team captain for the GBS Chess Team as well as Team Captain for the GBS Table Tennis Team. I have also been playing piano for the past 8 years. In the winter I love to ski, and in the summer I love to spend sunny days on Lake Michigan. Enjoy my website with vignettes of my life!!!
